i always forget about this purchase, and always always forget how good it is!
i seen someone review these on youtube before i went to Florida, and i’d never seen them here so when i was over there i bought them. i got them in Target for about $25-ish – can’t fully remember. i was impressed by both the price and how well they worked. i have curling tongs which cost around £30 in stores and my hair doesn’t hold in the curl for a full night out, and i paid probably about £20 for these wavers and my hair is wavy for at least 2 days!
they actually look ugly as hell, like big transformers and look mega tricky to work, but they are really easy – unless you’re my sister and burn yourself…
another feature is changing the temperature – there’s settings 1-30. mines are always set at 30 cause they work best and make more prominent waves. i assume the lower settings make a subtle wave.
the barrels heat up really quickly – i burnt my hand today… and theres a clip right at the bottom of the handle, near the cord and it clips the handle down for easy storage. i find it really helpful because i have these, tongs, a hairdryer and straighteners in my drawer and they’re all entwined together…
this is the best picture i could find, i’m actually quite annoyed at myself for not using them more than i have. this was my 21st last July. (the dress is from a department in Macy’s…Grass Collection). it was a beach party and i’d been running around all day preparing the hall and buffet and that, so it was a quick idea. And the “beach waves” were fitting for my beach party theme.
in Target it was $25 as i said, i just found it on Amazon and it’s $22ish. but i can’t find it on UK amazon…?
i’m going to Aberdeen this weekend, and i’m planning on taking them since my hair worked out nicely today until the RAIN got it’s hands on it!!! i was not pleased.
i recommend these wavers 1000000%! they are really impressive and really inexpensive!
this morning, the line up for T in the Park was announced. last years line up was probably the best line up the festival has ever had, unfortunately we were in Florida so i could not have went.
there’s alot of mixed opinions about the line up and i think – and i don’t now if this is coming from somebody who is going – people need to keep their really strong opinions to themselves. i’ve been feeling alot like this lately. not everyone is the same and everyone can’t just think the same. otherwise it’d be a boring world. i have the weirdest tastes…i think i have more common interests with the kids i work with rather than my 21 year old friends.
i love disney and colourful things, glitter and cheesy music, nice weather to play in and snow to play in (none of this rain and overcast rubbish, thanks).
anyway…back to TITP
I am so excited about maybe half of the bands and the whole experience. if it’s not my thing, then it’s not my thing and i won’t go back… i’m happy i will be going though. Me, Linda, our “sister” Christine and our “big bro” Robert are going – family holiday!
So mega excited. So i’ve started putting together some money plans and clothes plans and Euro plans for both Zante and TITP.
This weekend is JOANNE’S 21ST BIRTHDAY! and i am super excited. Joanne, Kim, Melo and I are all going for a nice meal in the Read Leaf Restaurant then we have booked a pod in the main bar and more people are coming to party with us! then on Saturday Joannes parents MoJo are throwing a party in the house for her. it’s gonna be such an amazing weekend and i cannot wait to give her her gifts! Spoiled girl!!!
I can’t do monthly favourites at all, i don’t remember what i use most. so maybe recent favourites will do?
i love Soap and Glory products. I genuinely don’t know where else to get them apart from Boots. This is especially amazing. I plan on blogging about all of my favourite S&G products, because it is so good! All the products smell exactly the same, but that’s not a bad thing. The smell is so nice. This is one of my favourites because it worked really well on my hair. When i got more blond in my hair i found it to be really dry, and i have only used this about 4 times and i find my hair to be less dry, both looking and feeling. I could honestly rant and rave about this all day and i’m trying not to go on to other S&G products but i’m excited about writing that blog. I got the most amazing Soap & Glory vanity case for my christmas, i absolutely love it!
Sephora Instant Refreshing Toner. I bought this when i was in Gran Canaria in September, and i actually forgot all about it until quite recently. It’s really good, and it really does break my heart that we dont have a sephora here. Even if they had one in London i’m sure i’d have day trips every now and then to go buy Sephora things. They are so inexpensive and work really well. I recommend any Sephora product, actually. Everything from there that i have is really good, and works. I use this after i’ve just cleaned my face with a facewipe, and it really does refresh the skin. I’ll also use it when i get up in the morning and it really wakes me up, and i think – i don’t know if this is just my head – it really does make me seem more awake, and feel more awake.
This is my ultimate recent favourite. Urban Decay Naked Palette. Linda gave me this for my Christmas, i have already wrote about it in a blog, but it was hardly a ‘review’ or anything like that. My favourite colour HAS to be half baked…or sin…or maybe toasted. Or all together! i really always use at least 3 colours on my eyes, and have became shocked when people tell me they use ONE. its mad! i also really love the brush that comes with it. i got a Lancome Absolut Voyage make up palette and i was so disappointed in the brushes, so when i read about this one and how it came with a brush i was fully expecting a crappy little floppy, soft brush. but i am really impressed with how good it is!
shes not a favourite but this is my mum. it was her birthday today so she gets a picture. me and Linda got her a gorgeous pair of Swarovski earrings (which she was already given then lost one when she fell on holiday) which she loved and my dad is taking her to Lanzarote for a week at the end of the month. We went to Frankie and Benny’s for dinner, it was really nice. i love that restaurant!
hope the January Blues arent setting in with anyone quite yet. I’m sure “Blue Monday” is the 16th and i am dreading it as always!
just a small ramble. this gorgeous glittery pink wall is from Sugarcube – www.sugarcubeglasgow.com. on friday i went out for my friend Nicole’s birthday. we got a booth and it included drinks and everything, it was so so so good. and the walls! the walls!!! arent they fabulous!! i was a little bit drunk, just a little… then dying in work yesterday. oh dear!
i also got my hair done on Thursday and i am loving it. it is not properly clear, this was a picture taken to send to Melo but i like my hair here. i went for more blond and a nice trim. my hair looks healthier and i will definetly start going to the hairdressers when i need to. because i hadn’t been since December – how awful. my hairdresser was mortified and disgusted with me ha! this is also a picture of me, Dan and Lisa in sugarcube on Friday night.
Next up, i got my birthday present from Linda! isn’t it pretty. (ps my 21st was in july…) but it was definetly worth the wait!!!
not much more to say. tomorrow i am going to see Linda’s new flat tomorrow. i feel like i haven’t been excited or anything else just now, but to be frank it has definetly not hit me yet and i fear it will when we go see the flat. it’s also her birthday on tuesday and she has a week of work. so this is a really big week and i couldnt be happier for her!!
Had such an enjoyable weekend there. Friday I hung at the “Ranch” (my aunt and uncles house, it’s really just in the middle of nowhere) and came to the conclusion that I’m getting Pink Edition Monopoly for my Christmas! YEY!
I played Monopoly with my boyfriend a few weeks ago and loved it – even though i got my ass whooped!! Then i downloaded it on my iPhone and love it! So i was telling her and I googled “pink monopoly” n she was like “I’LL GET HER IT!” one Christmas present down.
So on Saturday my younger cousin came over to chill with me, as all i done was sit on the couch in front of the TV. I was trying my hardest to get her to play Glasgow Monopoly with me – tried and failed.
I’ve been dying for a night out and got one! WOO! Linda and her friends, James and Maria, and I went to oVo in Merchant City on Saturday night. I actually really loved it! Club OVO Glasgow – Fashionable clubbing for the social generation! Give it a look and see what you think. It’s like Tunnel for grown ups and when my girls come back from Turkey i am WELL taking them there because we’re getting WAY to old for Tunnel as its full of under agers and orange guuurrrls.
The drink was cheap and it wasn’t hurrendously busy, like that Saturday-bus where you are literally grinding the person behind you. And music you ask? RnB. Just the ticket.
Yesterday afternoon Ck and Neil (my sisters friends) came over to deliver a belated birthday present and i LOVED it. They bought me a bottle of Malibu and a FURBY! Now it’s a long story! I have a pacemaker and when Furbies first came out it was declared that persons with pacemakers should not be near them as there is a chip in them that can interact/interfere with them. But it’s a wee cutsie! Called SAlly (or Fernando). Look at it’s cute eyes!
Not long now i hit up GC 🙂 The hotel It’s amazing and i haven’t been yet! It’s a complete chilled out week away for and my gurrrl Melo.
