big mistake.

Published April 9, 2012 by laurrx

i made a huge error in making out like i could complete this challenge ’cause i clearly clearly cannot.

the last pic i uploaded was on the 3rd april. it’s now the 9th and i have pictures but over the easter holiday weekend i’ve hardly been and i’ve been too drunk then too hungover to even lift my lift.

so i’m going to give the rest of it a mix and maybe just do a different photo challenge if i can find good ones online, ’cause i really don’t want to go the “picture of you and 10 facts” and “picture of your wallet”.

a picture a day… 3rd April

Published April 4, 2012 by laurrx

i’m so disappointing… three days in and i failed to take a

picture. but!!! in my defence i have a great reason…

yesterday morning i woke up at deadly 7am.  i sleepwalked right into the bathroom and had to rewind back to look out the window. SNOW. freaking snow in april! in spring! i was less than impressed, considering that this time last week it was 18-20 degrees outside. is this global warming?

anyway, everytime a random snowfall fell our way i was working! i was very upset about this because i never got the chance but this was well an truly my “things you don’t do every day” and that “thing” was curse and moan and hate and DESPISE this Scottish weather.

A picture a day… April 1st

Published April 2, 2012 by laurrx

in January somebody i follow on twitter started a 30 day photo challenge thing, not the annoying one on facebook that states you have to upload one picture with 10 facts about yourself, 10 facts about your best friend, 10 of your favourite things…blah blah blah etc etc etc. this is just a different picture challenge. it’s not any normal picture a day, it’s the first time you’ve tried something, something you don’t do every other day…not “this is what  ate today” unless in sushi in japan – with japan not being where you live, if that makes sense.

last night was the first night i had to myself in about three weeks. i made dinner for my mum, dad and myself then decided to watch some guy movies. this is my picture was april 1st because it’s not something i do often anymore. i used to constanly have DVDs on, but recently i’ve been watching boxsets (one tree hill at the moment).

Festive period is over. Sad face.

Published January 6, 2012 by laurrx

i am a big child, it’s so sad thinking Christmas and New Year are over.

I really enjoyed winter, and i am NOT one for loving winter with the awful, awful weather we have in Scotland. The winds were terrible and it is CONSTANTLY miserable. my friends and family and me definitely made the most of the season and ignored the weather.

i really hope everyone had a great christmas and a fab new year. i hope resolutions were made and presents were given and smiles were smiled and kisses were reciprocated.

i couldn’t feel festive. my mind just wasn’t in a Christmassy state of mind, i was watching loads of Christmas movies and doing Christmas things and still couldn’t. i watched a video for Christmas nails by Kandee Johnson and loved, loved, loved them.
http://www.kandeej.com/2011/12/4-cute-christmas-nail-polish-designs.html i done these and it made me feel that OUNCE of Christmassy…

we also went ice skating at george square. in glasgow george square at christmas is such a big deal.

they have a huge fandango about putting the christmas lights up and the ice rink. we havent been ice skating in george square for 3 years so this was a fun idea and it actually was a good laugh, although it rained. i recommend doing this if visiting Glasgow at Christmas time. it’s a must. george square is very nice at christmas, the lights have been the same for as long as i can remember. but even that wasn’t making me feel fully festive. even after the drinks we got…

we also went to the garage on christmas eve eve. i can’t exactly say alot about the night as i can’t actually remember it. but the garage is actually a pretty decent club. more so on a thursday. we went on the Friday and it was a good night…i think.its always a fun night to get everyone out for birthdays and christmas nights out. i did waste my christmas eve though by being a huge hungover mess.

on Christmas eve my my mum, dad, sister and i always go to movies and have been doing so since i could sit in the movies for more than an hour. (my mum, dad and me tried to list all movies we had been to see. the worst was “The Family Stone” worse ever. Or “Little Fockers” now that movie was a let down). so we went to mcdonalds, where i inhaled my food and debated with myself wether i would keep it down…then to the cinema. Always the showcase in Linwood. We went to see New Years Eve. I absolutely loved it! It’s like Love Actually, Valentines Day and He’s Just Not That Into You (which i am now rummaging about in my cupboard looking for as i wish to watch it). It’s got a number of famous people including Abigail Breslin (who isnt the cute girl from Little Miss Sunshine – currently changing my rummaging to look for this move), Katherine Heigl (making her way to my favourite actress list), Zac Efron (he is buff now! no more sissy Troy Bolton) and Lea Michele (BOOO! least favourite). It was such an amazing movie and definitely pulled a heart string. i wont ruin it for anyone who hasnt seen it, but the story line with Halle Berry’s character was a right tear jerker! the story was so real…i know things that happen in that movie happen all the time. But i have never seen this happen in movies before (or movies i have seen). after the cinema on the way home i suggested we play Monopoly (all of a sudden i have a huge love for monopoly – although my iphone always beats me!). my dad truly beat me…

although at one point he had to give up his bank card to pay his rent! Ha!

so Christmas morning we got up and exchanged all our gifts. here are my favourites.

my main gift from my parents was a promise to buy me a T in The Park ticket. I genuinely need a full blog post to explain and talk about this and maybe share what i have for the weekend and what i’ll be taking with me – i’ll save this for nearer the time.

THE URBAN DECAY NAKED PALETTE. when linda asked me what i wanted for Christmas i had a think about it and chose this baby. it is now my favourite ever make up possession. i will never do my make up without using at least one of these eye shadows! i love the colours, i love the packaging, i love the brush that comes with and i love the fact that it comes with a small primer potion! i am so lucky to have one of these.

I Christmas Day and Boxing Day with family. On Christmas Day we got the Just Dance on (Left and Right Pictures). It was hilarious. Then Boxing Day with my Dad’s side of the family. It was such a laugh, we made lethal cocktails and played chase the ace with the big cards my mum has! i love Christmas for family time. WarmFuzzies!
for new year i had a party. everyone was pretty gone and it was such an amazing night. i have never spent new year with my friends before so it was a special one. i even made two of them cry with a small, very non important speech with was along the lines of  “this year hasn’t been the best, i know we had 21sts and holidays, but there was downs and i’m happy we have each other…” and they started bubbling. Then Melo literally couldn’t stop. “Laura you’ve opened the gates”.
The picture above is not of New Year. It’s us having a pyjama party and eating the party food that was meant to be eaten at New Year, i was just too overwhelmed and drunk to do it then. Aren’t my bright pink pyjamas awesome? they have owls on them!!
the last couple of days before i need to go back to work consist of this. Pyjamas, made in Chelsea and lounging. it has been GREAT! i am such a slob sometimes its awful! although today was pretty productive and tomorrow and saturday will be too.
Today me and a couple of friends went window shopping, and to starbucks and people watched, then went back to Stacy’s house for dinner and a slob sesh. We also made some 2012 plans to be skinny and reem and go on holiday! it’s set to be looking like a fine fine fine year to be honest.
Tomorrow i’m going shopping for a 2012 diary and then lunch with Linda, then later my cousins are coming over for a sleepover party!
Then saturday (siiiiighhhh) me and the girls are going to the panto! i hate the panto, but i think this should be a fun time.
2012 might mean the world will end, so i feel we should make the most of it. i want to make plans and stick to them, make resolutions and stick to them, make decisions and stick to them. and also i want to drive. i dont want to die in the apocalypse with a green provisional!
hugs and kisses
and smiley faces for 2012.

Adverts are on.

Published November 10, 2011 by laurrx

i watch things on 4oD so that i don’t have to watch adverts, and i sit and turn Made in Chelsea on there’s adverts!!!!!!

at 4/4 no, yipeeee!!!!

i wish Spencer and Caggie would just get together….

So anyway, hope you’re all well. I’m a big chuffed that my blog has gotten over 200 views. I know it’s not much cause i’ve had it for ages and people must get this amount of views in one day but its made me smile a bit.

i was in ikea today and bought more storage solutions for my new room (which is, must to everyones non-surprise is become a bit messy) as i need to properly organise a few of my drawers and get boxes of things under my bed and such. i have far too much STUFF and not enough clothes… i did buy some new clothes when i got paid though. it’s the adverts again incase you didnt notice!

i borrowed the Friends boxset off Linda tonight and was meant to be watching ALL series 1 this one night until i got on my laptop an everything else seemed a bit more appealing – make up shopping, ebay looking, DVD buying, facebook stalking, youtube watching…etc.

i have LOADS of pics of the kitchen right now. my house has been upside since operation Moving Linda, and i can’t wait for it to be back to normal.

i’ll need to do another “my week in pictures” but to be honest i am so tired and too hungry to be bothered to do it right now. this ones just a wee blog of playing catch up.

I want to go to Australia in January… i really do. I need a change and new outlook on life….AND SOME SUN. it’d be great.

but for now i need some sleep and some ‘Friends’

goodnight, sweet dreams and no alarms…i wish.

Movie/Duvet Day

Published September 29, 2011 by laurrx

Tomorrow I’m off and i am super excited! This week in work had been hurrendous, i dont know why everyone needs their groceries every day! buy in bulk people.

I work in Morrisons and really, really, really, really… (i could go on and on), REALLY hate it! i need a new job so, so, so much!! But i cannot devour too much into why i hate the job (or i should and get fired – kidding.) but i do.

but i have been feeling so down, and i think i deserve my movie/duvet day off tomorrow. Me and Nicholas are going to watch House season 6, Star Wars and I’m going to try get him to watch the Scary Movie Quadrilogy (uuuuhh sonnnn!!!).

Also i want to bake lots and lots and lots of lil cupcakes and chocolate cake. And i most definetely want to stay in my pyjamas all. day. long.

It’s also a work night out tomorrow night and we are totally boycotting it. if i dont like spending time with my colleagues in work, why would i want to socialize with them??

I hate two-facedness and bitchiness. i’ll raise my hand and i say i have done my fair share of being a complete bitch. but it is unreal some of the bitching i come across sometimes. if i happen to come across someone who i feel i dont particularly like (and i do know quite a few people like that) i tend not to bother talking to them. what riles me is people who are so lovely to other folk and the minute this poor soul has turned away, theres a big butcher night right there in their back. it makes me sick. it’s a waste of time and energy and love.

you can’t love and hate everyone. but its not like you either love someone or hate them. i hate very few people. there is one girl i hate in my life and it is VERY called for. my dad always says “hates not the right word.” for this girl, its not enough.

this is getting rambly and i like it. i like to write my thoughts and i’d love to inspire your thoughts. i need inspired!

my mum keeps asking “what do you want to do?” and honestly i cannot answer the question. i’d love to travel but i’m such a home-girl. i’m too close to my sister, i’d miss her too much. i hate being away from Nic, i’d miss him too much. and i love my friends, i’d miss them too much. (never mind the fact i actually dont even have the money!!)

if i could travel? Australia, Canada, Caribbean, Africa, ALL of France…

I have only been to France once and for two nights, to Paris. And i fell in love with the city. It’s so gorgeous and it’s just amazing. Everyone just chilling out by the Sienne and just chilling out in Jardin Du Luxembourg with their picnics. It’s so me – lazy!!!

I wish i could move to Paris. Live in a little flat with a small balcony (like in Sex and the City, the one Carrie stands on as she looks at the Eiffel Tower) with lovely flowers that will be taken care of by not me and a butler. Yes a butler i will have and a driver. and i’ll meet with my gorgeous French friends and discuss (in French) everything gorgeous and make up and fashion and shopping and books and love…

and now i’m dreaming. sitting in my box room with my box bed and box life.

And still trying to love life…

What I Use In Everyday Life.

Published August 5, 2011 by laurrx

Happy Friday!

I have just been sent home sick from work, and I’m the most bored person ever. So I looked around and caught sight of my lil laptop sitting all along wanting to played with. its BLOGO’CLOCK – new word for blogging time!! I like.

(Watching Valetine’s Day Glee and Puck is singing “Fat Bottomed Girls” – to me of course! God i’d marry him!!)

So todays  blog is about my everyday skin/hair products i use. Perhaps not every single day but maybe everytime i wash my hair or every few days as some products are not recommended to use every single day! So to start i’ll begin with hair products.

MOROCCANOIL
This stuff came free with a subscription to Elle magazine and to be frank i had never heard of it at all. But after using it, i noticed such a huge difference. It is applied when hair is damp (i apply after a thorough towel dry). It gives the hair a gorgeous shine and it looks a lot healthier. For best results i always straighten my hair after use. If i am leaving my hair curly i’ll use my Flirty Curls Scrunching Jelly (In previous blog).

JOHN FRIEDA LUXURIOUS VOLUME BLOW DRY LOTION
This is a lil travel spray (Top Tip! If i’m looking for new hair products [Shampoos/Conditioners/Hairspraysetc] I always first purchase smaller or travel sized ones. I bought the travel shampoo and conditioner of this and it is actually really good. I don’t know wether it’s because i always dry and style my hair properly now. Before i’d just dry it without sectioning it off, now i use about 4 clips to keep all sections away! This is very impressive and i’d recommend it!

These two, along with the scrunching jelly are my three favourite hair products – the ones i’d take to a deserted island! Now onto the face! (Currently jamming to Artie singing “Pretty Young Thing”)
LET ME TAKE YOU TO THE MAX.

BOOTS ESSENTIAL CUCUMBER CLEANSING WIPES
These are really my favourite ever face wipes. I used No7 ones and they were really just the same. The No7 ones were about £6 and you get 3 packs of these Boots wipes for £3. Sometimes i may need to use two, but its the same with the No7 ones especially if you have heavy eye make up on. These ones being cucumber are all really refreshing, sometimes good to use in the morning and just before applying make up just for a clean and fresh start. I also suggest that if you have make up wipes, store them upside down to keep the topmost wipe moist.

CLINIQUE DRAMATICALLY DIFFERENT MOISTURIZING LOTION
(I use ‘Very Dry to Dry Combo’)
I bought this with the other Clinique 3 Step Skin Care products. These were the Liquid Facial Soap in mild and the Clarifying Lotion. Out of all 3 the moisturizer i use most. I use it after washing my face and before applying make up. My skin always changes from oily to dry at different parts of the year. Right now – summer – its very oily. But i still find this useful and to work really well.

NIVEA REFRESHINGLY SOFT MOISTURIZING CREAM
I got this in my stocking for Christmas from my boyfriend. It’s one of them best hand creams i’ve used. I bought another one to take to Florida with me and it really wasn’t as good and the consistency of the creams were different. I’ve used this one, mostly for my hands, but for other things. I bought a Sephora foundation and  it was a bit too orange so i mixed it with this moisturizer and it went onto the skin alot better. It’s also got a lovely smell to it!!

CARMEX ORIGINAL
I LOVE CARMEX!! ILOVE CARMEX!! VASELINE WHO??
I honestly have about 5 full tubes of this bad boy! One in my work locker, one in my hand bag, one by my bed and two in my make up drawer. I used to love Vaseline, but up until i was introduced to Carmex by my sister, Vaseline and I are no longer!! “It soothes, It heals, It protects” – it sure does! It’s great in the winter and summer and autumn and spring! ALL THE FREAKING TIME! There’s also a cherry one and thats awesome, and it’s got a nice lil tingle on the lips 😉

So these are my everyday uses. I know i keep going on about a make up…i am currently trying to put a look together!

Now i may just lay in bed and watch Tangled because the other night while it was on, i was busy busy trying to put together my first blog!

Catch you at the next BLOGO’CLOCK
